    Mark Edward Harris è uno dei pochi uomini ad avere visitato molte volte sia la Corea del Sud che quella del Nord, ed è uno dei pochissimi fotoreporter ad aver documentato la vita e le differenze fra Seul e Pyongyang.

    Ora, per festeggiare simbolicamente i sessant'anni dall'armistizio fra i due Paesi, ha dedicato loro una nuova collezione di fotografie. Harris è stato nelle due Coree otto volte ciascuna. La prima volta che andò in Corea del Nord era il 2005 e nel 2007 pubblicò un libro con i suoi lavori.

    Col passare degli anni il fotografo si è potuto rendere conto dei progressi di entrambi i Paesi. La Corea del Sud, ricca e industrializzata, «è completamente un altro mondo», racconta Harris, ma ora anche a Pyongyang le cose sembrano andare molto meglio rispetto al 2005. «Ci sono migliaia di automobili, una pizzeria italiana, un caffè austriaco e un pub britannico. E viaggiando lontano dalla capitale si possono vedere i progressi di questo Paese».

    Mark pubblica le sue foto su molte riviste e quotidiani, fra cui il "Times", il "New York Times", il "Los Angeles Times", ma anche "Vogue", "Elle", "Life" e "Harper's Bazaar".
