Le nomination alla 74esima edizione dei Golden Globe Awards sono state annunciate oggi in diretta streaming dal Beverly Hilton Hotel di Hollywood. A presentarle gli attori Don Cheadle, Laura Dern e Anna Kendrick.
Come sempre vi ricordiamo che i premi, storicamente, contano più per il valore glamour che per la reale influenza sugli Oscar, in quanto vengono decisi dall’Hollywood Foreign Press Association, una organizzazione di giornalisti che rappresentano l’industria cinematografica USA sui media esteri e che non ha nulla a che fare con l’Academy.
Non a caso le nomination agli Oscar verranno annunciate il 5 gennaio: l’unico impatto che i Globes potranno avere su di esse sarà la campagna mediatica delle varie major per ottenere voti da parte dell’HFPA, e nient’altro. Una campagna mediatica fatta di eventi, pubblicità e soprattutto regali: è di qualche giorno fa l’ennesima polemica legata a degli “omaggi” inviati da Tom Ford ai membri dell’HFPA, due profumi che superavano il tetto dei 95 dollari di valore per gli omaggi di questo tipo istituito qualche anno fa a causa delle polemiche. Il risultato? I membri dell’associazione hanno dovuto restituire uno dei due profumi.

Tre sono i film che hanno ottenuto le quattro nomination più importanti, e cioè miglior film, miglior regista, attore e attrice protagonista e sceneggiatura, e sono gli attuali tre favoriti alle nomination agli Oscar: La La Land, Moonlight e Manchester by the Sea.
A guidare la classifica dei film più nominati La La Land: il film di Damien Chazelle ne ottiene ben sette. La Lionsgate ha ottenuto il maggior numero di nomination tra le distribuzioni (dieci), seguita nientemeno che dall’indipendente A24. Tra le sorprese, tuttavia, spicca le nomination a Deadpool, inclusa quella a Ryan Reynolds come miglior attore in un musical / commedia. Completamente escluso dalla lista Silence di Martin Scorsese o Rogue One: a Star Wars Story, quest’ultimo perché proiettato alla stampa dopo la chiusura delle votazioni. Ci si aspettava di più, poi, per Arrival e Fences.
Le cartelle per le votazioni verranno inviate ai membri dell’HFPA il 19 dicembre, e le votazioni si concluderanno il 4 gennaio. Quest’anno la cerimonia di premiazione (prodotta dalla Dick Clark Productions, per la quale peraltro la cinese Wanda ha in ballo un’offerta di acquisizione) si terrà l’8 gennaio, condotta da Jimmy Fallon, e verrà trasmessa sulla NBC negli Stati Uniti (oltre che in altri 236 paesi in tutto il mondo, Italia inclusa).
