(ANSA) È stato attribuito all'attrice statunitense Jamie Lee Curtis il Leone d'Oro alla carriera della 78/ma Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica della Biennale di Venezia, dall'1 all'11 settembre 2021.

La decisione è stata presa dal Cda della Biennale di Venezia, che ha fatto propria la proposta del direttore della Mostra Alberto Barbera. La consegna del Leone d'oro alla carriera a Jamie Lee Curtis sarà l'8 settembre nella Sala Grande del Palazzo del Cinema (Lido di Venezia), prima della proiezione fuori concorso di Halloween Kills, diretto da David Gordon Green e interpretato da Jamie Lee Curtis, nelle sale il 15 ottobre.

"Sono incredibilmente onorata di ricevere questo premio dalla Mostra del Cinema della Biennale di Venezia. Mi sembra impossibile essere stata così a lungo nel mondo del cinema da ricevere un riconoscimento alla carriera, e che ciò accada oggi, con Halloween Kills, è particolarmente significativo per me", ha detto Jamie Lee Curtis del Leone d'Oro alla Carriera.

"Halloween e il mio sodalizio con Laurie Strode - ha aggiunto - ha lanciato e sostenuto la mia carriera, e rappresenta davvero un regalo il fatto che questi film abbiano dato vita a un nuovo franchise, amato dal pubblico di tutto il mondo. Il cinema italiano ha sempre onorato ed esaltato il genere che ha segnato la mia carriera, così non potrei essere più orgogliosa e felice di accettare questo premio dalla Mostra di Venezia, da parte di Laurie e di tutte le coraggiose eroine nel mondo che affrontano a testa alta ostacoli insormontabili e che rifiutano di arrendersi" ha spiegato Jamie Lee Curtis.

Halloween Kills, diretto da David Gordon Green e interpretato da Jamie Lee Curtis, è presentato da Universal Pictures, Miramax, Blumhouse Productions e Trancas International Films.
