    Dopo Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, e tanti altri big del rock anche Sting vende il suo catalogo musicale. Il 70enne ex frontman dei Police ha ceduto i diritti di brani iconici come "Roxanne", "Every Breath You Take" e "Englishman in New York" a Universal Music per una cifra stimata in 300 milioni di dollari.

     I particolari dell'accordo sono ancora segreti ma la popolarità del musicista di Newcastle upon Tyne - vero nome Gordon Sumner - è tale da rendere il suo uno dei top nella serie di cataloghi passati di mano nell'ultimo anno.

     

    «Mi è sembrato naturale unire tutto in una stessa casa dove l'opera della mia carriera sarà valutata e rispettata», ha detto Sting. «Non solo per connettersi con i miei vecchi fan, ma per far conoscere le mie canzoni a un nuovo pubblico, nuovi musicisti e generazioni», ha aggiunto.
