Fermi tutti. Arrivano le nomination dei Golden Globes 2021. Netflix, ovviamente, spadroneggia con ben 42 nomination, grazie a “Mank” di David Fincher, “The Trial of Chicago Seven” di Aaron Sorkin, “La regina degli scacchi” di Scott Frank , “The Crown”, Amazon ne ha 10 grazie a “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” e “Small Axe” di Steve McQueen, 9 a Hulu grazie a “Palm Springs” e “Normal People”.

Vi dico subito che “La vita davanti a sé” di Edoardo Ponti con Sophia Loren che finge di essere a Napoli invece sta a Bari è l’unica nomination italiana come miglior film straniero e miglior canzone di Laura Pausini, anche se è un po’ italiano anche il francese “Deux” dell’italiano Filippo Meneghetti, storia di due vicine, Barbara Sukowa e Martine Chevallier che sono amanti segretamente da anni.

I due allegrissimi film se la vedranno col potente danese “Un altro giro” di Thomas Vinterberg, il film con Mads Mikkelsen ubriacone, “Minari” di Lee Isaac Chung, già vincitore al Sundance di un anno fa, e “La Llorona-Le lacrime del male”, horror di Michael Chaves. Se la battono come miglior film drammatico “The Father” di Florian Zeller con Anthony Hopkins e Olivia Colman, “Mank” di Fincher, “Nomadland” di Chloe Zoe, “Promising Young Woman-Una donna promettente” opera prima dell’ex attrice Emerald Fennel, e “The Trial of Chicago Seven” di Aaron Sorkin.

Tra i musical/comedy troviamo invece “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” di Jason Wollner, il musical “Hamilton” di Thomas Kail, la commedia “Palm Springs-Vivi come se non ci fosse un domani” di Max Barbakow, “Music” della cantautrice Sia e il grande musical gaio “The Prom” di Ryan Murphy. Fra i registi in cinquina trionfano le ragazze, Emerald Fennel per “Promising Young Woman”, Regina King per “One Night in Miami”, Chloe Zhao per “Nomadland” contro i due maschi David Fincher e Aaron Sorkin.
Tra gli attori che vanno in finale trovate tutti i vostri preferiti di film e serie che hanno allietato e seguitano a allietare la nostra quarantena. Anya Taylor Joy, stellina di “La regina degli scacchi” è nominata anche per “Emma” come non protagonista. Sasha Baon Cohen è nominato sia per “Borat”, ovvio, che “The Trial of Chicago Seven”, dove è strepitoso. Tra gli attori di film drammatici la guerra è tra Gary Oldman (“Mank”), Anthony Hopkins (“The Father”), Riz Ahmed (“Sound of Music”), Chadwick Boseman (“Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”).

Tra le attrici guerra fra Viola Davis (“Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”), Vanessa Kirby (“Pieces of a Woman”), Frances McDormand (“Nomadland”), Carey Mulligan (“Promising Young Woman”). Come non protagonista in un film drammatico troviamo anche lo strepitoso Daniel Kaluuya di “Judas and the Black Messiah”) appena passato al Sundance.

Tra le serie limitate guerra stretta tra Nicole Kidman per “The Undoing” e Anya Taylor Joy per “La regina degli scacchi”. Tra le attrici delle serie lunghe vedo che le star di “The Crown” ci sono tutte, Olivia Colman e Emma Corrin come protagoniste e Helena Bonham Carter e Gillian Anderson come non protagoniste.
Ma c’è anche Sarah Paulson eroina di “Ratched”. Tra le serie limitate, che sono anche le più interessanti, troviamo “Small Axe” di Steve McQueen, “La regina degli scacchi” di Scott Frankm “Unorthodox” di Maria Schrader e “The Undoing” di Susanne Bier. Tra i film animati guerra stretta tra “Soul”, “Onward”, “The Croods”.

A naso i grandi sconfitti, e dubito che si rifacciano con gli Oscar, mi sembrano “Tenet” e “Notizie dal mondo” con Tom Hanks, lo vedremo fra qualche giorno su Netflix, nominati solo per le musiche. Trionfo di star femminili e di registe, meno in luce del previsto le nomination nere. A parte “Nomadland”, “Small Axe”, “The Father”, “Promising Young Woman”, film e serie sono tutti in bella vista sulle piattaforme. Cerimonia con premiazione finale il 28 febbraio.
